A rug is a space of exchange, a presence both visual and tactile, a place of peaceful softness. From this idea emerged the desire to translate some of Marie Hugo’s works into tapestry designs. A suggestion from her longtime gallerist, Pierre Passebon, who proposed the idea to Galerie Diurne. The artist carefully selected paintings she envisioned taking on this new form. The result is a collection where the enchantment of her canvases, their poetry, warmth, and delicate disorder—finds new expression in textile, offering each space that welcomes them a singular and timeless aura.
